Zingiber officinale Rosc, also known as Ginger, is a perennial herb  in the family Zingiberaceae. It is a dual-purpose plant for food and medicine and widely used because of its special aroma and spicy taste. Ginger is an important flavor in the world and its processed products are important raw materials for food, medicine, health care products, and daily chemical products. 2. Brief introduction of Ginger oil
 
According to the product characteristics, ginger oil can be divided into ginger essential oil and ginger oleoresin.
 
Ginger essential oil is a volatile oil, which is an oily liquid that is volatile and has an aromatic atmosphere when exposed to air at a normal temperature. The aroma components of the ginger mainly contain dozens of aromatic substances such as zingiberene, ginger aldehyde, and phellandrene. The aroma and partial flavor of ginger depend on its volatile oils - essential oils.
 
The ginger oleoresin is a liquid containing volatile components - essential oils and non-volatile components - resins extracted from ginger. The substance of the pungent and spicy components of ginger is mainly gingerols, including [6]-gingerol, shogaols, and zingerone, etc., which is the main pharmacologically active ingredient of ginger.
 
Globally, a large amount of ginger oil and ginger Oleoresin is required every year to be used for flavoring, medicine, and daily products.

4. Extraction Method
 
At present, the main extraction methods of ginger oil and active components from ginger are steam distillation, solvent extraction, Supercritical CO2 extraction and so on. Our products are prepared by Supercritical CO2 extraction.
 
The ginger oleoresin obtained by supercritical CO2 extraction retains the flavor substances and other active components to a great extent and has high purity and no impurities. The main components include volatile aroma substances (volatile oil) and non-volatile spicy substances. The main substances in volatile oil are zingiberene, ginger aldehyde, phellandrene, and other aromatic volatile substances, which is the unique aroma components of ginger. The spicy ingredients are gingerols, including  [6]-gingerol, shogaols, and zingerone and so on. There is also a small amount of bitter-flavored gingerol, dihydrogingerol and so on, which are also less volatile.
 
Advantages of supercritical CO2 extraction: simple process, organic solvents free, and mild production conditions. It can produce high-grade ginger oleoresin with fewer impurities, rich ginger flavor, no organic solvent residue, and no pollution.

Using CO2 as a fluid, the ginger oil is extracted under supercritical conditions, and then the CO2 fluid carrying the ginger oil is transformed from supercritical state or liquid to gaseous phase, and the ginger oil is released. Use Dalton's law of partial pressure to separate components that are poorly soluble in water. Mash the ginger before steaming and then subjected to steam under normal pressure or under pressure to distill the ginger oil at a temperature below its boiling point. Use ethanol, acetone and other solvents to dissolve the components of ginger gradually in accordance with a certain rule / or heat the solvent and refluxing to extract the effective components from ginger.
Can simultaneously obtain volatile and non-volatile ginger oil. Because of the inertness of CO2 and extraction separation is carried out at room temperature, the ginger oil obtained by supercritical extraction has richer chemical composition, the aroma is more transparent, and the fragrance is purer. Some substance is difficult to distill with water vapor because of its unique physicochemical properties and molecular structure. Therefore, only part of the volatile components of ginger can be obtained by the steam distillation, and the components of the gingerol components can not be obtained. The composition of extracted ginger oil is incomplete, only the gingerols can be obtained with low purity, and the ginger oil cannot be further separated. The volatile components are lost in the production process, and the rich aromatic smell can not be obtained. There is solvent residue.
Full composition, strong aroma, high yield, natural, non-toxic, no residue, high extraction efficiency, fast mass transfer, low energy consumption, no pollution of industrial waste. The obtained volatile components are less than that of  supercritical CO2 extraction. with longer extraction time, higher energy consumption, lower oil yield, and poor flavor.
 
The extracted components are incomplete, and the obtained gingerol is crude. The extraction is in low yield, low quality with a solvent residue which is difficult to remove.

⑴ Food and related
The original fragrant ginger oil has a strong aroma and is not spicy. It is mainly used in the food field for the flavoring of meat products, beverages, baked goods, ginger wine, etc. It is a natural food spice, but also a common raw material for cigarette flavors. Ginger Oleoresin can be used in food processing and high temperature processed foods. Water-soluble ginger oil can be used for drinks and products which requires water-solubility.

⑵ Cosmetics and Daily prodcuts
Ginger oil is rich in aroma, warm, fragrant, lemony, and has slightly lemon odor and the aroma of flowers. The original fragrant ginger oil is an ideal fragrance raw material for cosmetics, especially perfumes. It is also used in chemical products such as aromatherapy, shampoo, toothpaste, soap, liquid soap, body wash, and other daily chemicals. So does it to Water-soluble ginger oil. Ginger oleoresin and gingerols are available for functional products due to their biological activity.
