Pokeberry Root Extract Description: Phytolacca acinosa Roxb, a strong perennial herb of Phytolacca family and Phytolacca genus, is a traditional medicine contained in Chinese Pharmacopoeia. “Compendium of Materia Medica” contains that Phytolacca was born in Xiangyang valley, the central Shaanxi plain is the genuine producing area of Phytolacca. Studies show that the Phytolacca saponins had a strong effect of killing oncomelania, and the effect of 125mg/L for 24h was similar to that of the classical chemical molluscicide sodium pentachlorophenol (10mg/L). It can be used as veterinary medicine and pesticide. The fruit contains tannin and can make tannin extract. Young stems and leaves are available for vegetable food.
