Galangal Extract Description: Galangal is the dry rhizome of Alpinia officinarum Hance, a plant in the ginger family, which is mainly distributed in Guangdong. It is a food-medicine homologous plant approved by the Ministry of Health. It can be used as a flavoring agent and antioxidant for foods and regulates the freshness of food and prolongs the shelf life. Galangal is also an important raw material for functional foods and medicinal purposes.
 
In addition to containing essential proteins and carbohydrates, the main chemical components of galangal include diaryl heptanes, volatile oils, flavonoids, glycosides, phenylalanine and so on. Pharmacological activity is related to antioxidation, blood sugar regulation, anti-inflammation,  pain relief, the digestive system and so on.

Identification of Galangal: The surface is brownish red to dark brown, with fine longitudinal wrinkles and gray-brown wavy links, and round root marks on one side. It is tough and not easy to break. The section is grayish-brown or reddish-brown, fibrous, and the middle column accounts for about 1/3. It is fragrant and spicy.
