Asparagus Root Description: Asparagus is the root of the Asparagus cochinchinensis (Lour.) Merr. of Liliaceae. The Latin name of asparagus is Radix Asparagi. It is widely distributed in Guizhou, Guangxi, Yunnan, Gansu, Anhui, Henan, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan and other places, Jiangxi and other places. The asparagus began accounted in the "Shennong’s herbal classics", and it have been recorded in all the ancient herbs books. It is included in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Asparagus extract is a brown-yellow powder extracted from the root tuber, used for health care products, beverage and food additives and so on.
Asparagus Root Extract Application:
In Chinese herbal remedies, “Er Dong” (Two Dong) is the common ingredient, which literally is the abbreviation for Tian Men Dong and Mai Men Dong (Ophiopogon, Monkey Grass).
